Time for the finishing touches for the Airfix Spitfires, starting with the propellers.
The propellers are formed from a two part hub and single peice three bladed propeller. It goes together well, with just a little sanding needed around the base of the hub,
After adding some 2mm tube to form a shaft, they fit quite well.
Both hubs were painted in Sky. After painting the tips yellow, they were masked and the blades painted black.
[CaptionThere are two options for exhaust stacks. These were painted metallic black and given a rust wash.
The exhausts goin in first. They are a little tight, but OK.
The painted propellers where glued into place with some PVA glue.
The aerial masts are next. They stick on just behind the cockpit.
After a coat of VMS matt varnish the borsal navigation light was attached. Then some EZ line was glued into place with superglue to represent the aerial.
The canopy was unmasked and glued into place using some more PVA glue. That copletes the Spits.
