The aircraft served with a number of forces including the USA, UK and China. It was derived from the P-36 Hawk.
The P-40 was fitted with an Allison V-1710 V-12 engine giving a top speed of 334mph. It was quite well armed with six 0.5 Browning machine guns and could cary a modest bomb load of about 900Kg on three hardpoints.
This kit is quite nice, going together quite well. The cockpit has good details which looks good. The only real issue was with the fairings on the front of the wings.
I decided to use Lifecolor paints and they worked quite well, spraying with just a little thinning. There's not many decals to add but they settled down easily.
