Recently I decided to do something I had planned to do for ages, visit the church in Santon near the St Helens picnic spot.

All Saints Church

After parkinn in the car park for the picnic site I started the short walk to the church. On the way I discovered a fenced off medieval monument on the way. The purpose of this is not really known but it's a raised square with a moat round it. I had the wrong lens in the camera so had to take a second set on the way back after switching to a shorter range lens.

The rest of the walk to the All Saints Church didn't take too long. This is a stone and flint structure with a small grave yard. I don't think it's used as a church any more but is associated with St Mary;'s in Santon Downham which is also linked to the parish in Brandon.

After taking some more photos of the monument I walked back along the river to the St Helens foot bridge across the Little Ouse river.

To finish, I headed back into Santon Downham to visit St Mary the Virgiin church. This is a larger stone and flint builing with a slightly larger grave yard. Both a well kept with flint walls.
